Changes to Inspection Practices for Workplace Injuries and Illnesses

The U.S. Department of Labor is updating their practices for inspections of workplace injuries and illnesses. The Site-Specific Targeting Directive will now look at the employer-submitted Form 300A for the three previous years. Reviewing data collected over three years can help identify patterns that lead to illness and injuries. These changes can also allow for records-only inspections in some instances.

Form 300A must be submitted by the employer annually, and its importance has broadened under these new changes. If your company needs assistance with the Form 300A, whether sorting through a backlog, reviewing a current one, or setting up new practices going forward, please contact Pauline at 804-355-7255 for more information.
