Course Description:
These courses use the national curriculum developed by the OSHA Training Institute. Attendees receive a completion card from OSHA. Topics vary depending upon the needs of the attendees, but include: OSHA compliance and recordkeeping, personal protective equipment, hazard communication, and emergency prepardeness. Hazard Communication Train-the-Trainer

Course Description:
This course is designed to teach your trainers how to interpret 29 CFR 1910.1200 and pass on the information required by OSHA’s Hazard Communication standard. Upon completion of this course the participant will have the ability to help develop an organization’s HazCom program and the skills and knowledge necessary to train employees.

First Aid & CPR for OSHA Compliance Using the ASHI Curriculum

Course Description:
This First Aid and CPR curriculum has been designed to provide the attendee with nationally recognized certifications as well as special knowledge of what needs to be done on industrial and construction sites to comply with OSHA’s emergency preparedness standards. Bloodborne Pathogens Train-the-Trainer

Course Description:
This day-long seminar is specially designed for those who will train others on Bloodborne Pathogens protection in their own workplace. The course reviews the OSHA standard, it’s interpretations, as well as useful resources and training techniques for adult learners. The training will help attendees comply with the requirement at 29 CFR 1910.1030(g)(2)(viii) which states that “the person conducting the training shall be knowledgeable in the subject matter covered by the elements contained in the training program…”

Excavation Safety For Designated Competent Persons

Course Description:
This course provides the necessary hands-on training and knowledge needed by employees who are designated to perform Competent Person tasks on trenching and excavation sites. This day-long program uses local examples of excavation and soil conditions. Helpful checklists and handouts are provided.

Safety and project managers, site supervisors, and others responsible for the safety of personnel working in and around excavations or trenches.

40 Hour Hazardous Waste Site Operation Training (HAZWOPER)

Course Description:
This 5 day course is designed to meet the 40 hour classroom training requirements listed in 29 CFR 1910.120 pertaining to Hazardous Waste Site Operations and Emergency Response.
Who Should Attend?
Environmental professionals, clean-up contractors, regulatory personnel and others as required by the standard.

Ergonomics - Preventing Musculoskeletal Disorders

Course Description:
This course gives participants the ability to recognize potential hazards associated with cumulative trauma disorders and back injuries in the work environment. Upon completion, participants will have the knowledge needed to evaluate typical workstations and work processes and make appropriate engineering and administrative controls to reduce ergonomic risks. An update on OSHA’s proposed guidelines will be provided.

Safety Managers, Department Supervisors, Human Resource Directors, Occupational Health Providers.

Confined Space Entry for Designated Competent Persons

Course Description:
This is day long training prepares employees to analyze, test and safely enter confined spaces. The material in the course will also help those who are responsible for program development and must designation of spaces as “Permit Required.” Topics such as emergency rescue, contractor safety and interpretations of the OSHA Confined Space standard will be discussed. Atmospheric testing equipment will be demonstrated.

Safety Managers, Site Supervisors, employees and supervisors who must work around or enter confined spaces.

DOT’s §382.603 Drug Awareness & Reasonable Suspicion Training for Supervisors

Course Description:
This 3 hour course gives managers and supervisors all of the information they need to observe alcohol misuse and use of controlled substances. Department of Transportation requirements at §382.603 state that supervisors need at least 2 hours of this type of education in order to make informed “reasonable suspicion” decisions to send CDL and other safety sensitive employees to drug screening tests. Time will be spent on a discussion of how to approach employees - safely and successfully –when they are suspected of substance misuse.

Safety Managers, Supervisors of employees holding a Commercial Drivers License or other safety sensitive position in the organization.

Workplace Violence - Managing Your Organization’s Risk

Course Description:
This one-day seminar is designed to help organizations evaluate and control their workplace violence threats and risks. Topics covered include: definitions and profiles of violence, regulatory and liability issues, as well as recommended organizational policy and control strategies. Participants will be asked to review and critique their organization’s risks in order to develop a working plan of action.

Safety and Security Managers, Human Resource Personnel, Department Supervisors.

Workplace Violence- General Awareness For Employees

Course Description:
This course can be formatted for a 1 to 3 hour presentation used to introduce the topic of Workplace Violence to all employees in your worplace.
Who Should Attend?
All employees, including full time, part time, contractors, and volunteers.
