ErgonomicsErgonomic injuries can occur when there is a mismatch between the physical requirements of the job and the physical capacity of the human body. More than 100 different injuries can result from repetitive motions that produce wear and tear on the body. Specific risk factors associated with these injuries include repetitive motion, heavy lifting, forceful exertion, contact stress, vibration, awkward posture, and rapid hand and wrist movement. OSHA is in the process of developing industry specific guidelines for industries where the rate of ergonomic injury is high. Is your industry affected by ergonomic injuries? Circle Safety can assist you with your ergonomic review. We can determine if there are ergonomic issues in your workplace, and we can assist in developing controls for these issues, including employee ergonomics training.
